Landscape Lighting Options
Typical lighting systems use incandescent, such as a halogen, or florescent bulbs for the light source. While these get the job done, it is an older technology that isn’t very efficient.
LED Landscape Lights
The future of lighting is in LED bulbs, which are much more efficient and offer more options and applications. LEDs have been around for over 50 years, but only recently have been integrated into commercial applications.
LEDs are perfect for architectural and landscape lighting because they use less energy, they are less fragile than incandescent or florescent bulbs, and they have a much longer lifespan than other bulbs. A standard 40 watt incandescent has an expected lifespan of 1,000 hours, compared to an LED that will last for more than 50,000 hours. LEDs may cost a little more, but save money during the life of the system.
